There are dozens of different biomes in Minecraft, but one of the most popular to build in, especially early on, is the Taiga biome. This specific biome is home to the spruce tree, which are some of the best wood blocks to build with aesthetically. The biome also features a calming green tint to the grass, often borders water, and can spawn a plethora of mobs.
To see how you can find your own Taiga biome in Minecraft, check out the guide below.
How to find the Taiga biome in Minecraft
Like all biomes in Minecraft, the Taiga biome is randomly generated on your map. There’s no true concrete way to ensure you can find one, but there are often signs to look for when trying to find the land of the spruces.
For starters, the Taiga biome is often bordered by regular forest biomes along with swamps. You’ll also commonly find the Taiga biome separated from a meadow by a river. Rivers often border Taiga biomes, but the ocean is less common to see. You can also find other variants of the Taiga biome nearby. Snowy Taiga and Old Growth Taiga biomes border the regular version frequently. The Snowy Taiga biome has snow-covered spruces and grass while the Old Growth Taiga biome features brown dirt blocks in place of the green grass from the regular version.
Finally, you can commonly find villages and outposts in Taiga biomes, so that’s something to look out for if you’re traversing the map looking for the spruce-filled forest.
How to Teleport to the Taiga Biome in Minecraft
For those of you playing on a creative world or simply wishing to spawn directly in the Taiga biome, you can use commands to teleport there. Enter the following commands to teleport to the biome:
- Press “/” to bring up the console commands box
- Type “/locate biome taiga” in the commands box
- This will show you the coordinates to the nearest Taiga biome
- Type “/teleport biome” and then type in the exact coordinates the game gave you without the commas and parentheses (example: -1956 136 7930)
- Press enter and you’ll be immediately teleported to the middle of that Taiga biome on the map
This is the easiest way to get to the Taiga biome, but it won’t be available to those on a hardcore survival world or on a creative world where they don’t have command permissions.
