This page contains information on how your character is defined by their attributes, character perks, and how to level up in Cyberpunk 2077.

More information will be added soon!

Core Stats[edit]

There are fiver core skill stats that players can improve as they gain experience and improve their character in Cyberpunk 2077: Body, Intelligence, Reflexes, Technical, and Cool.

You’ll start the game being able to assign a limited amount of points between all the categories, and it also appears you’ll be able to continue putting points into these attributes as you level up.

The descriptions below are from the Cyberpunk 2020 RPG, and should give you an idea of what each particular stat does:

Body[edit]

This skill is not mentioned in CP2020, but one can assume it will be the measure of your character’s physical capability – how much they can lift/push/carry, and potentially how damaging their melee attacks are.

It is likely that this skill is a combination of strength and constitution, and will govern your ability to use powerful weapons both in melee and firearms.

Intelligence[edit]

This is a measure of your problem solving ability; figuring out problems, noticing things, remembering information.

In the world of Cyberpunk, having a high intelligence will govern your ability to employ advanced hacking technology to win fights with your brain over brawn.

Reflexes[edit]

This is a combined index, covering not only your basic dexterity, but also how your level of physical coordination will affect feats of driving, piloting, fighting and athletics.

It appears that this attribute will govern your ability to handle more firearms with expert precision, as well as being able to employ certain blade-arm modifications.

Technical[edit]

This is an index of how well you relate to hardware and other technically oriented things. TECH will be the stat used when fixing, repairing and attempting to use unfamiliar tech.

On the other end of the spectrum from Intelligence, this attribute will allow you to fix and manipulate hardware over software in a variety of situations.

Cool[edit]

This index measures how well the character stands up to stress, fear, pressure, physical pain and/or torture. In determining your willingness to fight on despite wounds or your fighting ability under fire, Coo/(CL) is essential. It is also the measure of how “together” your character is and how tough he appears to others.

Cool also appears to determine your ability to engage in stealth work, and can govern your strength in assassinations – both near and far.

Like any RPG, Cyberpunk will allow you to grow your character as they increase in level by investing in a Skill Tree known as Character Perks. However, there are no fixed classes or roles to take on – you’ll be able to mix and match these perks as you want over the course of the game to fulfill the role you choose.

The tree expands from each of your Core Attributes, leading into the skills that these attributes govern, allowing you to invest more points in these perks to further customize your playstyle.

The Pathways from attributes to perks are as follows:

Body Shotguns Two-Handed Melee Athletics
Reflexes Handguns Rifles Blades
Cool Assassination Nerve Sniper Rifles
Intelligence Hacking
Technical Engineering

You can use perk points earned on level-ups to upgrade a number of categories: blades, rifles, handguns, assassination, nerve, sniper rifles, engineering, hacking, shotgun melee, two-handed, and athletics.

Based on our knowledge so far, it appears that the more your increase and attribute, the more it increases the max amount of points you can then level up in a category (For example, having 9 points in Cool allows you to level up Assassination, Nerve, and Sniper Rifles to a max of 9). Each category can hold of a maximum of 5 perks, in which multiple points seem to be able to invested in.

It is not yet fully known how perks are unlocked, though from our interviews with developers it appears that you will have to actually perform the actions associated with the category to level up that tree, and then assign perks.
