Yuzo Koshiro, who composed the music for Streets of Range 1-3, as well as Sonic the Hedgehog and Shenmue, is re-teaming with Streets of Rage 2 & 3 composer Motohiro Kawashima for Streets of Rage 4. They’re also working with an ensemble of guest composers you might recognize.
Streets of Rage 4’s soundtrack will include track contributions from famous Japanese composers like Yoko Shimomura (Street Fighter 2: The World Warrior, Kingdom Hearts 1-3), Hideki Naganuma (Jet Set Radio & Future), and Keiji Yamagishi (Ninja Gaiden, Tecmo Bowl).
“Since we first announced the title last fall, fans have been asking who will be involved in the game’s soundtrack as it is a vital element to the Streets of Rage games,” Streets of Rage 4 executive producer Cyrille Imber said in a statement. “We are thrilled to confirm this world-class lineup of musical talent for Streets of Rage 4.”
Don’t be fooled by Streets of Rage 4’s new look. In our hands-on time with the upcoming beat ‘em up we found that Streets of Rage 4 plays exactly like the Streets of Rage games of old.
Axel, Blaze, and their fists star in the new sequel, which is set 10 years after the events of Streets of Rage 3. There’s still no release date yet for Streets of Rage 4. But Dotemu says more information, including hopefully release date and platforms, will be revealed in the future.
