As fans around the galaxy prepare for Star Wars Celebration Chicago this week, here is our top 10 list of what we recommend you bring to the show: –

  1. Official documents – including passport or ID card and any tickets you need.
  2. Money – make sure you have some cash, and that your credit card companies know that you are out of the country (if applicable); also ensure that your money is secure!
  3. Any medication you may need for the duration of the show – always bring enough for a couple of extra days in case you are delayed. Put all your medication in your hand luggage!
  4. Comfortable shoes – expect to walk a LOT, we suggest two pairs of shoes that you alternate daily to help avoid painful blisters (just in case, bring some plasters too).
  5. Water bottle – make sure you stay hydrated! It may be cold outside, but it will be warm indoors (put an extra stick of deodorant in your bag) and drinking plenty of water will help keep you on track.
  6. Snacks – with long lines normally found at most vendors we suggest you bring suitable snacks to keep your energy up. Bring some gum or mints to help keep your breath fresh too!
  7. Portable charger – with all of us being so reliant on our mobile devices, it is imperative to make sure you have a portable charger to ensure you are never out of juice.
  8. Poster tube – in previous years posters have been given away after panels, so make sure you have something to put them in to help protect them.
  9. Bag – bring a comfortable bag to pack all the above in but try and avoid small cases with wheels and make sure any bag you bring has good support/that does not rub.
  10. Schedule – download the official Celebration app for Android and iOS, or head to the official web site, and make a list of all the things you want to do. Make a list on your mobile device (or on paper) and check the location of rooms to see how easy it is to get from one room to another for the next panel or event.

Finally, everyone attending the show wants to have fun, there is a reason why it is called Celebration. With tens of thousands of people expected we suggest you remember that everyone is there for the love of Star Wars and with that in mind have patience to those around you and do not forget your sense of humor.

We look forward to seeing you at the show!
