Friday the 13th: The Game Coming to Nintendo Switch This Spring

Friday the 13th: The Game is officially coming to Nintendo Switch this Spring, as reported by Variety.

The Switch announcement comes with the release of the Friday the 13th: The Game Ultimate Slasher Switch Edition.

The Switch edition will include all previously released content and DLC’s, including the Jason Kill Pack, Counselor Clothing Packs, and the Emote Party Pack. However, the Kickstarter exclusive Savini Jason character and the exclusive clothing pack for backers will not be included.

“We’re happy to be bringing ‘Friday the 13th: The Game’ to the Nintendo Switch with the help of our partners at Black Tower and Nighthawk,” Director of Communications at Gun Media, Daniel Nixon told Variety. “The Nintendo Switch offers a unique experience, in both social settings and on the go, that we feel work very well with ‘Friday the 13th: The Game.'”

Friday the 13th: The Game, which was originally funded by Kickstarter backers and released in 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, has been dealing with legal disputes over copyright laws with the Friday the 13th franchise from the original screenwriter, Victor Miller.

Due to this, the game’s co-creator, Wes Keltner, announced last summer that no further content would be developed or released for the game, with Gun Media confirming as well.

The news of Friday the 13th: The Game coming to Switch happens to have ironically been announced at the same time the asymmetrical horror game, Dead by Daylight will be coming to Switch in Fall 2019.

Dead by Daylight is a PvP where one person is in the role of the Killer and the other four players are Survivors. The game is known for their horror-franchise DLC’s that have been released, including Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Saw.
