The Finals is a game where multiple teams compete in highly destructive environments to capture and deposit cash. It’s done in the style of a game show with squads of three attacking and defending deposit points. There’s a lot to learn about the game, and in this video, we’re covering all the things that would have been helpful to know from the start. That includes knowing the major differences between the Light, Medium, and Heavy classes and how to use their gear and abilities creatively.

Our list of tips will help you focus on some starting skills like movement and changing a few settings to make the game easier to see. We’ll cover things you can pick up in the environment, like goo canisters and explosive cylinders, as well as unexpected things you can pick up, like your team’s death statues. We’ll cover the different and not very obvious decision points and phases in a match, like when to attack and when to defend. That means laying out why attacking can be very risky at times, with stiff penalties for getting your team wiped. Then we’ll cover how to get creative around defending Cash-Out-Points, like covering the area in goo, destroying stairs, and setting bounce traps. We’ll go over the random variations that can happen in matches like low gravity and meteor storms. Finally, we’ll go in-depth with what you should know about starting classes and the best ways to use their weapons, gear, and abilities. That means getting creative with zip lines, bounce pads, sledgehammers, and grappling hooks.

The Finals is a free-to-play game by Embark Studios that is currently in closed beta on PC. It runs on Unreal Engine 4 and sports a highly destructible environment. It’s listed as releasing soon on Steam, with plans to come to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S at a future date.
