Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PlayStation 5 is getting the much-requested and previously teased New Game+ option in March, as well as some other “highly requested features” and new suits for Spidey.

Spider-Man 2 on PS5 is a very good game. But when it launched in October 2023 it was missing some features a lot of players really wanted. Top of the list was New Game+, an option to let players replay the main story with all their powers and abilities. Insomniac initially suggested that an update adding New Game+ and more would arrive before the end of 2023. But plans shifted in December and Insomniac delayed the update until early 2024. And now we know precisely when the anticipated update is landing.

In a tweet posted on February 7, Insomniac Games confirmed that the New Game+ update would arrive on March 7. While the developer hasn’t provided the full patch notes yet, it did promise that a “complete list of features” being introduced in the update would be available closer to launch.

The last time Insomniac talked about this update, it explained that beyond New Game+ it also planned to add the ability to change the time of day in the city, swap tendril colors when using symbiote powers, and replay specific missions. It also teased even more to come in the next big update. What else might Insomniac be adding?

Personally, I’d love an option to be able to play as (SPOILERS!) Venom in the open world. I know that’s probably not going to happen, though, so I’ll just have to hold out hope that Insomniac does get a chance to make that reported Venom spin-off game at some point.

We’ll all find out just what Insomniac has in store for when the next big Spider-Man 2 update arrives on March 7.
