With the record-breaking GTA 6 trailer analysed to within an inch of its burgeoning life, fans have now turned their attention to official art for the game and reckon they’ve spotted something pretty revelatory.

Redditor InevitableLibrary387 pointed to what they think is a tease for the GTA 6 map hidden within the only piece of official art developer Rockstar has released for the hotly anticipated sequel.

“Please tell me I’m not the only one who sees it, Vice beach on the right, a city in the middle, and scattered islands around it,” InevitableLibrary387 said.

If you’re struggling to spot the map in question, it’s in the very bottom right of the image and you need to zoom in a fair bit.

Fans reckon this blurry image shows a general outline of Leonida, GTA 6’s fictional take on the state of Florida, or at least a cluster of islands. So perhaps not the full GTA 6 map, but potentially a portion of Leonida.

There are even what looks like a few cities in there, which suggests that, if this map is in fact a tease, that GTA 6 will have multiple cities — something rumoured for the game for quite some time.

Now the fun really begins. X/Twitter user @NikTekOfficial went full CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and used colour correction to make this map more visible, and provided a comparison with it and an ongoing community-driven mapping project built from the GTA 6 leak of 2022.

Incredible spot or the ultimate reach? That’s what fans are debating right now as GTA 6 interest reaches fever pitch even now, two years from the game’s planned 2025 launch on consoles (but not PC).

IGN has a huge amount of GTA 6 coverage for you, as you’d expect of what will probably be the biggest game launch of all time. The GTA 6 trailer was awaited with bated breath from the gaming industry and finally arrived with plenty of classic Rockstar satire.

The 90-second trailer featured a ton of intricate details (here are 99 details we spotted), and plenty of references to wild and wacky real life events too. It also showed off GTA 6’s dual protagonists, Jason and Lucia, and the internet has already grown obsessed over the latter. The GTA 6 trailer has already surpassed predecessor Grand Theft Auto 5’s reveal trailer’s views, reaching 101 million views in less than two days. It’s now the most-viewed video game reveal on YouTube over a 24 hour period, and the most viewed non-music video on YouTube in 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the real-life Florida Joker is threatening Rockstar with legal action (Rockstar is yet to respond), and fans spotted a cool Red Dead Redemption Easter egg buried within the trailer.
