A hacked version of Bloodborne running in 1080p and at a 60 frames per second has revealed what the much-requested PlayStation 5 version would look like.
Twitter user Illusion used a hacked PS5 to get FromSoftware’s beloved gothic horror RPG running at an advanced performance and shared more than two minutes of gameplay (below). The 60fps mod for Bloodborne, which is otherwise locked at 30fps on its native PlayStation 4, was developed by hacker and dataminer Lance McDonald.
“Illusion has done it,” McDonald said in a tweet. “My Bloodborne 60fps patch has been ported to run within the current state of PlayStation 5 hacking [and] exploitation: real retail PS5 hardware running Bloodborne at locked 60fps in full 1080p.”

Fans have long-requested an update to the 2015 game, with a PC version perhaps being the most sought after version. Things even got so desperate that when Bloodborne-like Lies of P received a PC demo, players immediately modded FromSoftware assets into the game.
Sony’s recent PC push has offered a bit of hope for a proper re-release, especially with Bloodorne’s ten-year anniversary approaching, though the publisher is yet to say anything official.
In our 9/10 review of the PS4 game, IGN said: “Bloodborne delivers an exhausting and exhilarating journey into the depths of madness.”
