It is officially Amazon Prime Day, and if you’re in the market for a new game console, the online retail giant has an offer you may want to consider.
The store is selling a “renewed” 2021 model Xbox Series S console for only $200 right now. It is a refurbished unit that Amazon says is fully functional and in “excellent condition.” It also comes with Amazon’s 90-day Renewed Guarantee that gets you a refund or a replacement if there are any issues, in case that helps you make a decision.
Normally, Amazon’s “Renewed” Xbox Series S consoles sell for $270. A brand-new Xbox Series S system goes for $300. So you’re getting quite a nice deal here if you’re OK with a refurbished unit. Shipping is fast and free for Prime members.
The Xbox Series S is an all-digital console, so it won’t play any game or media discs you might have. It’s an aging console, but one that can still be recommended. Add an Xbox Game Pass membership (which is also on sale right now!) and you’ll have access to lots of games right out of the box.
Microsoft recently announced a new version of the Xbox Series S, this one in black and sporting a 1 TB hard drive for $350. The system goes on sale this September.
