Tomorrow on June 23, you’ll finally be able to test your might in Mortal Kombat 1 as NetherRealm Studios will be holding a Stress Test. The test will take place over the weekend, ending Sunday, June 25.
The news comes from the official Mortal Kombat Twitter account, and it reads:
“Good news, Kombatants. Codes have been sent out! Reminder the Stress Test will begin tomorrow 6/23. In case you were wondering, we found an issue in the build yesterday and didn’t want it to inhibit your playtime this weekend. We were able to resolve sooner than anticipated. #MK1”

Stress Tests are a fairly standard thing for multiplayer games to do. As the name suggests, it’s meant to see how far the studio can push the servers before it gets overwhelmed and aims to help the development team better prepare for the game’s launch. To participate in the Stress Test, visit the WB Games website and sign up with your Warner Bros. Games Account. It’s also worth pointing out that signing up doesn’t guarantee a slot because players are chosen randomly.
Mortal Kombat 1 is scheduled to come out on September 14 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. For more Mortal Kombat 1 news, check out our story on Ed Boon explaining the changes to MK1 and our hands-on preview that reveals more core gameplay twists.
