The horror-themed X-Men spin-off movie The New Mutants has become notorious for the number of delays it has experienced since it was shot back in 2017–but it looks like that we will see it soon. The film has an April release date, and the last few weeks have seen the release of a new trailer and a spooky poster. Another poster and some new images have now been released.

The new poster has a similarly spooky vibe to the one released last month. It shows the movie’s five young stars–Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy, Blu Hunt, Henry Zaga, and Charlie Heaton–standing in a darkened passageway, with their eyes glowing in a particularly sinister way. As for the new images, they show Zaga as Sunspot and Hunt as Dani Moonstar. Check them out below via the official New Mutants Twitter account, and the poster at the end of this story.

The New Mutants releases on April 3 and also stars Alice Braga (Elysium), Antonio Banderas (Spy Kids), and Happy Anderson (Mindhunter). It’s directed by Josh Boone, who previously made the hit teen drama The Fault in our Stars and is the co-writer and director of the upcoming TV adaptation of Stephen King’s The Stand.

The New Mutants was originally set for an April 2018 release, but rumors of extensive reshoots and repeated delays caused some to wonder if we’d ever get to see it–including the film’s own exasperated cast members. But not only have a new trailer and two posters now arrived, Boone himself recently posted an image of the main cast assembled to watch the final film. So whatever happens now, at least they’ve seen it. For more, check out GameSpot’s guide to everything we know so far about The New Mutants.

As for what happens to the X-Men on the big screen now, the franchise is likely to be eventually rebooted as part of the MCU following the failure of last year’s Dark Phoenix and the Disney/Fox deal. However, Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds recently confirmed that the third Deadpool movie is happening at Disney.
