Polish developer Techland has delayed Dying Light 2 (PS4, Xbox One, PC) from its original spring 2020 release goal, and the studio says it will announce more on this front in “the coming months.”

In a letter to the community, CEO Paweł Marchewka says Techland needs “more development time to fulfill our vision,” noting that the game is the studio’s biggest to date.

Given the size of Dying Light 2 – the world is four-times as large as the first – it’s understandable that more time might be needed to bring it to life. Player choice and the sheer number of things to do are large components of the title as well, making it understandable that more time might be needed to bring it to life.

Dying Light 2 is among several recently delayed games, including Cyberpunk 2077, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Iron Man VR, and Avengers.
