The Fortnite x Batman crossover event came into the game on September 21, 2019 and will stay until October 1, 2019. This limited time event offers players the chance to complete the Welcome to Gotham City challenges to earn exclusive rewards. Our Fortnite Welcome to Gotham City challenge guide will take you through all six Batman themed challenges, as well as the Joker gas canister and Bat Signal locations.
Below is a list of all Welcome to Gotham City challenges. Clicking on a blue challenge will take you to a more detailed description of how to complete the objective.
Below is a list of all of the Welcome to Gotham City challenge rewards in order.

To complete this challenge, players will need to light up three different Bat Signals outside of Gotham City.
We were able to pinpoint six different Bat Signal locations in Fortnite. There are more than six, but since you only need three to complete the Welcome to Gotham City challenge, this should be plenty.
As you can see in the map above, most of the locations are just outside of a named location. Simply head to the arrows on the map and you should find the Bat Signal location pretty quick. Don’t worry if someone beats you to them, you can light up each signal multiple times.
To complete this challenge, players will need to defuse three Joker gas canisters found in different named locations.
We have also identified six different Joker gas canister locations in Fortnite. These are all in named locations and can be a little bit harder to find.
As you can see in the map above, most of the Joker gas canister locations are in the middle of a named location, making it hard to pinpoint on the map. In the list below, you’ll find a more detailed description of each gas canister location in Fortnite.
- Pleasant Park: Center Building
- Loot Lake: Next to a car just under the L in Loot on the map
- Lazy Lagoon: Inside the fountain
- Retail Row: Just outside of the gas station
- Salty Springs: Between the Y and P on the map, behind the flipped over car
- Shifty Shafts: Underground between the Y and S on the map, next to a big wooden box
