Watch Dogs Legion Leaks and Rumors
On June 3rd, a product listing was spotted on Amazon UK for Watch Dogs Legion, which will allegedly be set in a near-future version of London. This was the first mention of the name, as previous speculation was that it would simply be called Watch Dogs 3.
The listing—which has since been removed—the description reads, “Watch Dogs Legion is set in a near-future, dystopian version of London. It’s a post-Brexit world in which society, politics and technology have changed and altered London’s fortunes.”
Announcement
After the leak, Ubisoft officially confirmed the game will be unveiled at E3 via the official Watch Dogs Twitter account. The tweet accompanies a short video with a red Watch Dogs logo against a grainy, black background that reads, “God Save the NPCs. Reveal at E3. #WatchDogsLegion #UbiE3” Their Twitter account name also now reads “Watch Dogs Legion” with the corresponding branding.
Watch Dogs Legion Gameplay
No gameplay has been released for the upcoming game yet. That said, you can probably expect to see some footage during Ubisoft’s E3 Press Conference on Monday, June 10th at 1:00 PM PST.
According to a leak from Kotaku, players will be able to assume control of any NPC in the game, though this hasn’t been officially confirmed. The Amazon leak did reveal some gameplay details, however, saying, “Every individual you meet in the open world, has a full set of animations, voice over, character traits and visuals that are generated and guided by gameplay systems.”
Watch Dogs Legion Setting
The initial Amazon listing said of the new setting, “London is one of the most iconic cities in the world and has had a massive influence on all of Western Culture for centuries… London makes total sense for WD, as the city has one of the highest surveillce [sic] levels in the world making this the perfect playground.”
Watch Dogs Legion Release Date
No release date information has been announced for Watch Dogs Legion, however, Ubisoft previously reported that there are three more unannounced AAA games that will be released before March 2020, so it’s possible we will see it before then.
