“Fortunately, your progress up until the update was still safe and sound.”

Update 4/3: Developer Respawn Entertainment has released a fix for the progression issue that the 1.1 Update was causing players, and it’s now live on all platforms.

Posted on Reddit, Respawn says the issue was caused by players being unintentionally moved to the wrong servers that didn’t have their persistent data, and made it appear that player accounts were reset with all progression lost.

“Fortunately, your progress up until the update was still safe and sound,” reads the post. “We shut down all live servers so we could remove players from the wrong place and roll up the correct servers with your progress. Once we confirmed internally that we had fixed the issue we started rolling out the right servers starting with Xbox and staggered the updates to PS4 and PC.”

As for progress restoration, everything players have purchased and earned up until the 1.1 patch went live this morning at 10 a.m. PT should be restored. Any in-game purchases and progress acquired between then and now will be reverted, including levels earned, items unlocked, packs opened, and spent currency. Any currency purchased, regardless of if it was spent, will revert to the original account state.

The original story follows.

Some players report the latest update for Apex Legends has wiped their progress, and developer Respawn Entertainment is working to fix the issue.

The official Respawn Twitter account posted about the issue, saying “We are aware and looking into the issue with accounts losing their progress after the update today. Will provide update ASAP.”

A Respawn community manager also posted about the problem on Apex Legends’ Reddit page, saying the developer will start turning off servers to do maintenance and is recommending players not buy or craft anything until the issue is resolved.

According to the official patch notes post, Patch 1.1 rolled out at 10 a.m. PT, and offered various quality of life changes and bug fixes. This issue appears to be impacting PS4 and Xbox One players. It’s common for developers to backup a huge amount of player data before releasing an update, so these resets will hopefully only be temporary.

Reddit user UrsineVulpine wrote “This is great, only the update wiped my stats, level, battle pass levels, unlocked legends, skins, crafting metals, legend tokens and refunded my coins for buying the battle pass and reset everything back to 0. Any danger of a fix for that?!”

Another user wrote “My account reset is deeply concerning. 221 Hours played and a ton of packs purchased. I’m stumped, well and truly!”
