Note: At launch, this weapon is only available to those who purchased the Deluxe or Limited-Edition of Rage 2.
After you complete the tutorial of the game, you’ll obtain your Ranger outfit, get the Phoenix car, and begin to leave Vineland in search of help as you begin to explore the Twisting Canyons region of the Wasteland.
As you do, you may be notified that certain bonuses are now active – and this will include the BFG 9000. Keep an eye out in the sky – and you should see a large red meteorite rocket down in front of Vineland to crash into one of the hillside that’s just North of Vineland at the second three way intersection on the right.
Look for the scorched earth and you’ll find a glowing area with a large red rock that’s cracked open – and inside the cracked meteorite you’ll find the BFG 9000, ready to go!
If you missed the weapon when first leaving Vineland – not to worry, the meteorite will stay in place along with the weapon until you pick it up.
Note that the BFG can only hold 7 ammo, and only weapon vendors in trade settlements sell BFG Plasma Capsules for $1,000 per capsule.
