Drew Struzan, the legendary movie poster artist has passed away, aged 78. Struzan had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in recent years and his passing yesterday (13th) was announced via his official Instagram account today.
It is with a heavy heart that I must tell you that Drew Struzan has moved on from this world as of yesterday, October 13th. I feel it is important that you all know how many times he expressed to me the joy he felt knowing how much you appreciated his art. – Greg
Struzan had proved himself as one of the greatest movie poster artists of all time and was revered by Steven Spielberg who called on his services on many occasions. His catalogue of movies included; Indiana Jones, Back to the Future, Harry Potter franchises, amongst others. And Star Wars fans will never forget the iconic one sheet posters he created for the Star Wars Original Trilogy Special Editions and Prequel Trilogy movies.
