During an interview to discuss his new film Caught Stealing, Matt Smith was asked about his role as a villain in the upcoming Star Wars: Starfighter and played very coy with his answer.
Regina King and Matt Smith sit down with “Extra” to talk about their new Darren Aronofsky crime thriller “Caught Stealing.” Matt plays a punk rocker with piercings and a mohawk, and he said he was thrilled to do something bold with Darren, a filmmaker he’s admired for a long time. Regina’s character has a powerful line about not running away from things you’re afraid of, which she and Matt both said they resonated with. They talked about the movie being set in the ‘90s and their nostalgia for a time without camera phones. Plus, Regina talked about her new orange wine label MianU, a project that is dedicated to her late son. We also had to ask Matt about the rumors he’s playing the villain opposite Ryan Gosling in “Star Wars: Starfighter.”
Star Wars: Starfighter lands in cinemas on May 28th, 2027, and starts filming later this year. Caught Stealing is out on August 29th, 2025.
