And while both NES and SNES games will be added in the future, Nintendo does not necessarily have plans to keep up the monthly cadence it’s kept so far.A representative for Nintendo confirmed to IGN that “More Super NES games will be added after launch, but those releases will not adhere to a regular schedule. Business Insider first reported Nintendo’s adjusted plans to the SNES and NES Switch Online library.
Since the introduction of NES games to Switch Online, Nintendo has delivered a handful of NES games monthly to the library, including some, like The Legend of Zelda, with special features added. Nintendo has not confirmed the plans for how and when new games will be added going forward, except for that both NES and SNES games will continue to be added to the library. Nintendo could choose to alternate platforms each month, release large batches of games every few months, or some other cadence for these releases.
