The rumors were true: Fortnite OG is coming back. Epic Games has officially confirmed that OG Fortnite is returning on December 6. It’s also coming back permanently, Epic said.
The developer said, “OG is coming BACK and is here to stay.” Players can expect the original map, original loot, and the original seasons.
THIS. IS. NOT. A. DRILL.

Fortnite OG came back in December 2023 and helped boost Fortnite’s player numbers to massive levels, so it’s little surprise to see Epic is doing it again and making it permanent this time.
Fortnite OG isn’t going to replace the latest, most updated version of Fortnite with all the new shiny bells and whistles, of course. Anyone who wants that experience can still have it. But Fortnite OG is joining the mix to give players an option to tap into nostalgia and experience Fortnite like it was years ago.
Plenty of other games are tapping into nostalgia for their latest events, as Apex Legends just rolled out a Launch Royale update that brings the game back to its roots. Then there’s Overwatch Classic and a Halo 2 throwback in Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
