Developer A44 Games announced that it’s moved the release window for Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn from 2023 to 2024 in order to create the best experience for players at launch.

“We’ve been hard at work crafting a unique and deeply detailed open world brimming with thrilling fights, rewarding exploration, and a true sense of discovery,” the studio explained on Twitter. “It’s important to our whole team that Flintlock is a special experience, and we owe it to ourselves and to all of you who have been following the game since we announced to make it the most impressive and unforgettable game it can be.”

A44 Games also hints that it’ll share more updates about the game soon. Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn is the studio’s second game after 2018’s Ashen. It follows a young woman named Nor Vanek, a member of the Coalition, a resistance group that uses gunpowder to fight against the gods’ magic. Humanity has nearly gone extinct due to the gods’ undead army, and Nor joins up with a magical creature named Enki as they fight back.

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn was revealed last year and was previously set to release in 2023. Now coming sometime in 2024, the game will be available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. It’ll also be included in Xbox Game Pass on launch day.
