London’s Carnaby Street is the destination of choice for Star Wars fans on Friday December 6th at 8:30am as the new Light Side and Dark Side Special Edition Challenger Jackets from Columbia Sportswear go on sale.
Fans in attendance will be able to select from two different designs based on the Dark (black) and Light (grey) sides of the Force. The unisex style jackets are priced at £190 each.
We take a look at the Star Wars features of the Light Side jacket starting with the Republic emblem emblazoned on the right hand chest pocket. Opening the main zipper reveals the phrase ‘May the Force be with you’ in Aurebesh.
T-65 is written in Aurebesh under the mesh pocket sleeve, this being the model designation of the X-wing flown by Luke Skywalker. The lining of the jacket matches the colour of Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber blade, and the hilt and blade can be seen if you turn the jacket inside out.
The label on the jacket shows the size differences between the Millennium Falcon and a T-65 X-wing. All of the text is translated on the reverse from English into French and Aurebesh.
