The next DLC Character for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate may be an SNK character, according to a new file uploaded to Nintendo’s UK website.
First noticed by Twitter user @PushDustin and shared by Twitter user @Nibellion, the text is fairly standard legalese explaining ownership rights over Smash Ultimate’s fourth DLC Challenger Pack. At the bottom, however, is a copyright from the SNK Corporation.
Challenge Pack 4 in #SmashBrosUltimate will apparently be a character from SNK.

SNK is synonymous with the Neo-Geo cabinets of time past, as well as multiple fighting game franchises. Metal Slug, King of Fighters, and the recently released Samurai Shodown all fall under SNK’s umbrella.
SNK also released a 40th anniversary collection of some of its most enduring franchises back in late 2018.
SNK also surprised the audience at EVO 2019 when it was announced that Soul Calibur 6 would be receiving Samurai Shodown cover character Haohmaru as part of its upcoming DLC.
A new Nintendo Direct presentation has been rumored for the near future, but has not yet been confirmed. If we’re going to hear more about Smash Ultimate’s newest character, it will most likely be during Nintendo’s next presentation, given that we’re nearing the end of summer convention season. Nintendo’s site says that Challenger Pack 4 is scheduled for distribution by February 29, 2020. In addition to the new character, players are also getting a new stage and new music.
Joseph Knoop is a writer/producer for IGN, and he will literally die if Metal Slug guy gets it.
