Attendees of the San Diego Comic-Con 2019 Marvel Games Panel were treated to an early look of Square Enix’s Avengers game and, surprising no one, the footage has leaked. This early footage was only meant for those in the room, although Crystal Dynamics did confirm that it will be released to the general public a week after Gamescom this August. However, not everyone obeyed the rules and grainy footage taken on cell phones has leaked to the internet at large.

The footage shows Thor, Iron Man, and Hulk gameplay as they fight on and around the Golden Gate Bridge in San Fransisco during the A-Day celebration, which was mostly the same demo shown behind-closed-doors at E3 2019.

Many around the internet have reacted either positively or negatively to this footage, and many have questioned Square Enix’s promotional plan and why it refuses to show the gameplay when it being leaked is near inevitable.

Josh Deveson praised the footage and compares the gameplay to God of War, Anthem, and “giant rampages.”

Al Viscardi’s “hype level is through the roof,” and, even though it wasn’t shown in this latest leak, he loved the look of Captain America’s combat and hopes to see some X-Men added to the game.

Fadel thinks it looks “kinda cool,” even though some of it may seem a bit repetitive.

Hoxenshattered really likes the look of Avengers.

While Gary Devenport thinks the game may turn out all right, he can’t understand how terrible Square Enix’s promotional campaign has been.

@InsrtCoins doesn’t understand why Square Enix would want this type of first impression.

Stingray was not too impressed, calling it “standard GTA gameplay.”

Ash couldn’t believe Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, may have been teased for Marvel’s Avengers.
