“It includes backstories that haven’t been told in the manga.”
Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama has confirmed that the upcoming Action-RPG Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will include backstories that haven’t been told in the manga, further expanding the Dragon Ball universe.
As reported by Comicbook.com, Bandai Namco US shared the announcement on Twitter and Toriyama hopes that these new additions will greatly contribute to the “fresh new take on the franchise as you re-live the moment where Goku discovers his Saiyan bloodline and birth name, Kakarot.”
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot was announced earlier this year as Dragon Ball Game – Project Z and will follow the story of Goku and Dragon Ball Z and will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in early 2020.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Had a Strong Showing at E3 2019
At E3 2019, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot got its official name at the Xbox press conference and we got a good look at the game in action, with all the “cel-shaded battles and energy beams you’d expect from a Dragon Ball game.”
Later during E3 2019, we were able to get hands-on with Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, and while we still have a ton of questions about the game, it gave us “nostalgia goosebumps,” especially while playing through “the iconic battle of Goku and Piccolo vs Radditz, while the legendary opening song “Cha La Head Cha La” swelled in the background.”
While there is still a while to wait for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, be sure to read up on how we believe this new game can win us over and relive nine of the most unforgettable moments from Dragon Ball Z.
