What may be a potential Detective Pikachu sequel, or something more, is in the works for Nintendo Switch.
During the Pokemon 2019 Press Conference, a new entry in the Detective Pikachu video game series was announced for Nintendo Switch.
This will not be a simple port or re-release of 2016’s Detective Pikachu for the Nintendo 3DS, but will be a new adventure that will bring a conclusion to the story ended on a cliffhanger in the original game.
In our review of the original game, we called it great and said that “Detective Pikachu gives great insight into the world of Pokemon through its fun mysteries and wonderful coffee-loving lead.”
This news follows the success of the Pokemon: Detective Pikachu film starring Ryan Reynolds that had the best opening weekend for a video game film adaptation.
In our review of Pokemon: Detective Pikachu, we said that it “mixes humor, heart, and gloriously-rendered Pokémon to deliver a simple yet entertaining time.”
The Pokemon Press Conference also revealed Pokemon Home, a cloud service for smart phones that will allow players to trade, connect Pokemon Bank, and much more.
Pokemon Sleep was also revealed and is a new app/game that will track player’s sleep and allow Trainers to “wake up with Pokemon every morning.”
Lastly, Pokemon Masters is arriving on iOS and Android devices in the future and will allow players to battle Pokemon and it features many famous Pokemon Trainers from the past video games.
