“Avatalk” returns!

Oops, apologies! We made another episode of Up At Noon, our weekly pop-culture comedy-flavored variety show and/or garbage dumpster of bad ideas. Watch the four previous episodes hereherehere, and here to see what you’re missing. For no reason, here’s a picture of us looking sleepy:

This week, we have a very serious discussion about Spider-Man’s long history of having vehicles that don’t make sense, such as a car, helicopter, and this new jet they made for the Spider-Man: Far From Home toy line, which hopefully isn’t in the movie. Superman has a spaceship, which is also stupid, but there’s an okay reason for it, but Storm in a giant mech makes zero sense.

Anyway, here’s what else is in store:

  • The Weirdest, Grossest, Nastiest Games for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo is a family-friendly company that makes lovely, charming games. However, they also make the Nintendo Switch, and other companies make some nice filthy, violent games for that fun portable. Brian runs down some favorites, including Bulb Boy and Manual Samuel.
  • Aliens Was Almost a Cartoon Show! – Awesome toy company NECA’s been making collector-grade gritty reboots/HD remasters of the old Kenner Aliens action figures, which we loved as kids. But… why did they have children’s toys based on an R-rated action movie sequel to a movie about monsters designed by a creepy artist from Switzerland? Because Aliens was almost a cartoon, of course! Anyway, the next time you don’t feel like spending money like an adult, grab some of NECA’s gorgeous Aliens figures.
  • Being An Avatar Fan Sucks – As basically the only person at IGN who enjoys Avatar, I’m excited about those sequels (whenever we get them) and good things are worth the wait. However, hearing everyone crap on something you enjoy while you’re waiting around for over a decade gets old pretty fast. I hope James Cameron proves all you faithless ingrates wrong, and invites me, a real Avatar fan, on a once-in-a-lifetime submarine adventure to the bottom of the sea to learn the language of those crazy glow-in-the-dark fish and be best friends with Sigourney Weaver.

There you have it! Another fantastic episode under our belts. Please, for the love of God, share this show with your friends and family, scream its name from the rooftops. We love what we’re doing and want to make more of it.

Max Scoville is co-host and quasi-producer of Up At Noon, you can follow him on Twitter @MaxScoville and for whatever reason, he got stuck writing these stupid episode posts, so as revenge, he’s been hiding messages at the end trying to get people to tweet photos of wet cat food at Brian, who’s @agentbizzle, but so far, it doesn’t seem like anyone actually reads this section. If you’re reading this section… Please, PLEASE send Brian some nice saucy wet cat food, or as they say in France: pâté dans de la chat, s’il vous plaît.
