Beat Saber is officially leaving PC Early Access and the full version will be released on May 21, 2019, alongside a Level Editor.
As revealed by developer Beat Games, this is only the beginning for the studio and Beat Saber as they have “so much in store for the game” even though all the features it wanted to have in the game when it first launched will soon be available.
As for why Beat Games decided now was the right time, it feels the game is at “a stable version” and Beat Saber is at a point where all versions – Steam, Oculus, PS VR – are now unified.
However, for those who have yet to purchase Beat Saber, it may be a good time to purchase it as the Early Access price on Steam and the Oculus Store of $19.99 USD will increase to $29.99 USD after the release next week, which is how much it currently costs on the PlayStation Store.
The Level Editor will be 2D and “very simple” to use and will allow Beat Saber players to create levels for their own audio tracks. The song “Beat Saber” from the OST Vol. 1 will be included for free so all players will be able to jump in and try out the Level Editor for themselves without having to create anything.
Even though Beat Games is calling this the full version of Beat Saber, more will be added in 2019 an beyond including music from “big name artists coming from all genres,” paid Music Packs and free tracks, and even more features.
