Extra story, puzzles, combat and more.
Moss, the 2018 VR adventure game featuring a young mouse named Quill, will receive a free expansion that adds extra story, puzzles, combat and more.
This new content will be released alongside the launch of Oculus Quest on May 21, and will make its way to other VR platforms including PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift/S, HTC Vive and Windows MR via an update in June.
New content will be woven throughout the existing game as portals to the “strange and vibrant” Twilight Garden. Described as a new chapter of gameplay, the Twilight Garden exists as a complimentary experience to the main game that introduces additional environments, challenges and story. The Twilight Garden will test players in new ways as a “mysterious presence prepares you for the dangers ahead.” New content in the Twilight Garden includes vast chambers, unique weaponry, new puzzles and enemies.
“The Quest is a game changer for the VR industry, and something we’ve been eagerly anticipating as developers specializing in VR content. Its wireless head and hand tracking technology allows full immersion in another world, simply by picking up and putting on a headset, regardless of where you are,” said Polyarc system designer Josh Stiksma. “Now you can explore the whimsical fairytale from home or on the go as you travel, commute, and visit friends or family. In addition, to make this experience even more magical, we’ve updated the game. Players may now discover and explore new content hidden within the world of Moss.”
In our Moss review, we called the game “Great” saying “Quill and her fantastical world of Moss are instantly likable. This storybook action-adventure makes stellar use of VR.”
In our Oculus Quest review, we called the standalone VR headset “Amazing” saying “The Oculus Quest doesn’t have quite the graphical fidelity of its PC-based counterparts, but its sublime untethered don-and-play nature more than makes up for it.”
