Days Gone will be the first eligible game.

GameStop has released a new promotion that offers the full price of a game, refunded as store credit, within 48 hours of its launch, as noticed by @videogamedeals on Twitter, and reported by Polygon.

The promo is titled, Guaranteed to Love It and was announced the day after the new CEO for GameStop, George Sherman, moved into the role.

In a statement to Polygon, GameStop said: “True to our core promise, today’s announcement is a testament that GameStop is committed to giving power to the players — and our ‘Guaranteed to Love It’ trade promotion offers our customers the peace and mind of buying video games inside our retail stores at no risk, beginning with Days Gone next week.”

At the beginning, the initiative will only include the game Days Gone, and it seemingly only will be eligible with the standard edition, retailing at $59.99. It is unclear when more games will be included in the promotion, and if anything outside of a standard edition will be accepted.

GameStop reported losses of almost $488.6 million in its third quarter of last year, and a net loss of $673 million for the entire 2018 fiscal year.

In January, rumors of the company being bought out circulated, with GameStop announcing shortly after, that they were halting their pursuits of a buyout, in which their stock then plummeted over 25%.
