Fortnite’s latest tomfoolery is the addition of vehicular hamster balls – because, Fortnite.
The single-occupancy vehicle, which looks pretty similar to the gyroscopes in Jurassic World, is called The Baller, and it’s armed with a plunger that we’re suspicious might function as a grappling hook.
“Roll through the competition with the newest vehicle, The Baller!” says a message in Fortnite’s in-game news feed, via Lucas7yoshi_.
The same Twitter user allegedly dug up some code a few weeks ago revealing a charger base for the hamster ball. Perhaps The Baller doesn’t have its own engine?
We can only speculate at this point how the hamster ball operates. It’s rumored to launch as part of the upcoming v8.10 patch.
Fortnite Season 8 started two weeks ago. It adds new pirate-themed items and locations, including an in-game treasure map to guide players toward buried loot.
