Alan Wake voice actor Matthew Porretta appeared on Monsters, Madness, and Magic and said Alan Wake 2 is “supposed to come out in October.”

While we know Alan Wake 2 has a 2023 release window, Porretta may have narrowed down that window around the 16:37-minute mark of the latest episode of Monsters, Madness, and Magic.

“I’ve been working on it,” Porretta said of Alan Wake 2. “That’s supposed to come out in October. We’re in the middle of working on it now. In fact, I was just in Finland last week, that’s where the company is from… Remedy, they’re amazing people.”

It’s important to remember this is not an official announcement and may not be in line exactly with the release date planned by Alan Wake 2 developer Remedy Entertainment. It also doesn’t take into account any last-minute delays Porretta may not be privy to.

This story is very similar to one from March 2023 where Spider-Man 2 voice actor Tony Todd, who is voicing Venom in the upcoming sequel, let it slip that the much-anticipated game will be released in September.

Alan Wake 2 was officially announced at The Game Awards 2021 and is being billed as Remedy’s “first survival horror game.” If the 2023 release window holds, the sequel to 2010’s Alan Wake will arrive 13 years after the original.
