Lucas7yoshi and FNBR leaks picked through the data files and discovered new gear, skins, and locations that neatly tie in with Batman Day on September 21.
The leaks have uncovered a new Explosive Batarang that is said to home in on enemies, or stick to walls and explode when other players wander too close. Also found in the Batman kit is the Dark Knight’s trusty Grapnel Gun, which will provide new opportunities to quickly gain height. The item description reads, “Pull yourself towards a target location and then deploy the Bat Cape,” suggesting it also provides one of Batman’s most iconic costume elements.

There crossover update will also changes the map, with Tilted Towers set to be replaced by what looks like Gotham City. A list of new “Welcome to Gotham” challenges offer rewards like sprays and a glider for completing tasks that include “light a bat signal.”

Epic Games appear to have struck a wide-reaching deal with the Batman franchise. An image on the Epic Game Store’s website hints that the Arkham series and Lego Batman games could be set to replace the current free game, Conarium, this week.Last month Fortnite teamed up with Borderlands to celebrate the launch of the latest game. In the past it’s also featured crossovers with Marvel’s Avengers, John Wick, all 32 NFL teams, and Nike Air Jordans.
