Disintegration is a sci-fi, first-person shooter from V1 Interactive, a new studio led by Halo co-creator Marcus Lehto.Ahead of Disintegration’s full reveal later this month at Gamescom, we’ve compiled everything we know about the mysterious shooter, including its first teaser trailer, release window, and history with Halo.

V1 Interactive and publisher Private Division announced Disintegration in July. The announcement was light on information, but it included a 45-second teaser trailer, which showed off different angles of a futuristic weapon or weaponized vehicle.

Disintegration Release Date

Disintegration is currently scheduled to be released between April 1 and December 31 2020. Platforms for the shooter have not been announced.

Disintegration Gamescom Reveal

The sci-fi shooter will be officially revealed on August 19 during the first night of Gamescom 2019. It’s unclear what exactly V1 will show, but the developer has framed it as a “full unveiling.”

Disintegration’s Halo Roots

Prior to forming V1, Lehto co-founded the Halo universe at Bungie. Lehto spent 16 years with the studio, during which he held roles as creative director and art director, according to his LinkedIn profile. He now serve’s as V1’s president and creative director.

Lehto co-founded V1 alongside Mike Gutmann, who serves as vice president and CTO. Gutmann was a key member of Zipper Interactive, the studio behind SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs. The duo is joined by several other ex-Bungie and -Zipper devs.

In total, 29 developers constitute the Seattle-area studio, according to its website. Members of the Disintegration team have helped ship Destiny, Skyrim, Shadow of Mordor, Mirror’s Edge, Infamous: Second Son, and Oddworld, in addition to Halo and SOCOM.
