The Mario Maker Challenge is Back!

Super Mario Maker 2 is here! And while we’re blown away by some of the awesome community maps and levels that we’ve seen so far, we also wanted to get in on the action ourselves.

Just like last time, we’ve paired up our editors with one another, and they’ll build levels for each other. Whether these are fun/cool tributes to our favorite Mario games or Machiavellian death traps built solely to destroy friendships remains to be seen, but either way, it’s going to be a good time.

A Trash Castle

First up, Features editor Jon Ryan built a cruel castle full of hidden traps and other mean things before forcing Guides editor Brendan Graeber to walk its halls (or, perhaps more accurately, fall down its randomly deep holes).

An Egyptian Pyramid

Brendan’s revenge is swift, though (and perhaps unintentionally disproportionate), as JR descends into a tomb of ancient horrors and battles – for a long, long time  – an evil underground magic.

Pick a Door

JR this time asks our Producer Ronny Barrier to simply do one thing: pick a door. Just… make sure it’s the right door.
