Ubisoft E3 2019: Conference Date, Time, Predictions, and Announcements

Ubisoft’s E3 2019 conference is scheduled for today, June 10 at 1pm PT/4pm ET/9pm UK (June 11 at 6am AET) and following the pre-E3 leak of Watch Dogs Legion, we’re more than likely in for another great showing. Ubisoft has historically been E3’s biggest risk-taker when it comes to stage shows. Could this be the year Just Dance no longer comes to Wii? We’ll find out soon.

Ubisoft is the company that inexplicably introduced us to Mr. Caffeine, only a year after interrupting its own press conference with a hectic Battle Tag demo. Even in 2018, years removed from E3 celebrity appearances being commonplace, its conference included two live performances. Yet behind the spectacle sits an exciting catalog of franchises, and a track record of big E3 announcements. Its shows continuously balance the predictable with the unexpected, making Ubisoft one of E3’s most intriguing presenters.

Ubisoft Pre-E3 Announcements

Its recent announcements, paired with the handful of pre-E3 leaks that have become an annual custom for the publisher (more on those in the next section), have set the stage for a jam-packed Ubisoft E3 conference.

Leading the way is Watch Dogs Legion, which Ubisoft confirmed following a leak on Amazon UK. According to the leak, the third Watch Dogs takes place in a “near-future, dystopian version of London.” The leak also suggests all NPCs will be playable characters — an unconfirmed feature, though one that seems to be hinted at in the announcement tweet: “God Save the NPCs.” The tweet also confirmed an official Watch Dogs Legion reveal will come at E3.

Prior to Legion, Ubisoft revealed Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint, a follow-up to 2016’s Wildlands. The Ghost Recon Breakpoint release date is set for October 4. According to the game’s official site, more information will be revealed at Ubisoft’s E3 press conference.

A Beyond Good and Evil 2 livestream was also aired ahead of the show, as the developers will skip E3 to focus on “core development milestones.” During the stream, Ubisoft revealed new concept art and details about the world of BGE2.

These larger pre-E3 announcements come in addition to Ubi’s continued commitment to Google Stadia and its next-gen Rainbow Six Siege plans.

Ubisoft E3 Predictions

Predictably, we expect to see franchises like Just Dance, The Division, For Honor, and Rainbow Six, which have become staples in Ubisoft’s show. As previously mentioned, we’re also sure to see more on Ghost Recon Breakpoint.

However, it’s unpredictability that makes Ubisoft so intriguing. There are three unannounced Ubisoft AAA games coming before March 2020, potentially setting the stage for a trio of big E3 reveals. Fans have long awaited a new Splinter Cell. Could Sam Fisher’s return be Ubi’s big announcement to close out the show?

Nintendo Switch games have had a presence on Ubisoft’s stage each of the past two E3s, with Mario + Rabbids in 2017 and Star Fox in Starlink in 2018. Will this relationship lead to another Nintendo/Ubisoft collaboration, or perhaps a Mario + Rabbids sequel?

We know we’ll be seeing more Watch Dogs Legion after its recent leak and official confirmation, but that still leaves a lot of rumors whirling around ahead of Ubisoft’s show. There’s Roller Champions, Ubi’s purported Rocket League-esque game that was seemingly leaked in late May, and Ubisoft Pass, the company’s reported EA Access-like subscription service. Should these leaks prove true, we’ll almost certainly see both revealed on the E3 stage.

All the Rumors Leading Into E3 2019

Equally notable are three games we don’t expect to see. Following Skull & Bones’ delay into 2020, Ubisoft announced the pirate game won’t be at this year’s expo. As mentioned earlier, we also know Beyond Good and Evil 2 will be excluded from Ubi’s E3 2019 press conference.
