FromSoft and George R.R. Martin's Game Reportedly Leaked

After rumors suggesting A Song of Ice & Fire author George R.R. Martin and Bloodborne developers were working on a game together, new details suggest that title, Elden Ring, may reportedly be revealed at E3 2019, alongside several other alleged Bandai Namco games.

As posted by industry analyst Daniel Ahmad (ZhugeEx on Twitter) and posted on 4chan, as reported by Game Informer, FromSoftware is allegedly set to reveal Elden Ring, a new RPG world from Hidetaka Miyazaki and George R.R. Martin.

Elden Ring: a new world

Ahmad posted a teaser image for the alleged collaboration game, showcasing the title, Elden Ring, and an etched symbol comprised of several interwoven circles and a vaguely anchor-shaped image. Elden Ring is reportedly set in “a new world” from Miyazaki and Martin, which would mean it is not a continuation of the Dark Souls or Bloodborne franchises.

Elden Ring allegedly is in development for PC, Xbox One, and PS4, though no release date has been indicated in this rumored data. Additionally, the alleged description for the game calls it a fantasy-action RPG and FromSoftware’s “largest game to-date.”

Martin previously stated he “consulted on a video game out of Japan,” which lined up with rumors that Martin had collaborated with FromSoftware on a new game.

A Tale of Bandai Namco Leaks

When reached for comment a Bandai Namco representative said “BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America does not offer comment or respond to rumors or speculation.”

As Ahmad points out, this is also not the only alleged new Bandai Namco game to possibly be leaked ahead of E3. Wario64, via ZhugeEX, noted a leak on Twitter of an alleged new Tales game, Tales of Arise. The leak of the alleged new entry in the franchise included screenshots and a logo. And as spotted by ResetEra via Direct Feed Games, an alleged Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Remastered version is in the works as well.

The last Tales game was Tales of Beseria, which came to Northa America in 2017. IGN’s Tales of Beseria review said “Tales of Berseria is a surprisingly strong showing for this long-running series. Its tragic story of broken people fighting on the wrong side of history makes it utterly compelling, and its well-tuned combat more than makes up for its lack of interesting environments.”

Ni no Kuni originally came to the PS3, and IGN’s Ni no Kuni review said the game was “a beautiful mixture of the traditional makings of a JRPG combined with gorgeous graphics, a wonderful story, a great cast of characters and thoughtful gameplay.”

None of these games have officially been confirmed by Bandai Namco, but should any of this information prove to be accurate, we’ll likely learn more with E3 2019 fast approaching.

FromSoftware’s last game debuted just earlier this year, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, published by Activision. IGN’s Sekiro review said “Sekiro is an amazing new twist on a familiar set of ideas that can stand on its own alongside its predecessors.”
